If you ever looked at an object and you saw in it a face or other significant shape, you probably experienced peroidolia. Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon that involves a vague and random stimulus like an image or sound that is perceived as something clear and distinct, like seeing faces or significant shapes in everyday objects. Below you will find a few examples of some of our illusions. To find more examples simply visit places like Flickr or Reddit, where thanks to the whole communities dedicated to finding faces in everyday objects, you’ll find thousands of images.
