squatting at russian metro

As long as you fit enough to do 30 squats under two minutes, you can travel on Russian Metro for free. To promote the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, tube stations in Moscow have installed new ticket machines which allow passengers to do 30 squats instead of taking a regular ticket fee. Don’t even think about cheating, this machine can count and is capable to detect if you’re doing half squats.

Russian Olympic Committee stated that apart from the promotion of the Olympic Games, initiative is supposed to encourage people to get involved in fitness activities. It is also reported that the Olympic Committee will install on Moscow’s buses exercise bands in place of handles, and stationary bikes where people will be able to charge their mobile phones with pedal power.
